That's the problem i currently see for modding on consoles, there are some programs like FNIS/Bodyslide/TES5Edit/Wrye Bash/SKSE/Patchers(Like Patchus Maximus)/NMM/Mod Organizer for skyrim that might be essential(Fallout 4 version ofc) in Fallout 4 to use but console peasants wont be able to use them.Īnd yes Maps for Doom and Mods for Fallout4 are 2 different things, to make a Map it shouldnt be hard(not that i know) but to make a mod? that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hard whitout knowing scriping and the like. What if the number 1 mod for Fallout 4 on PC is the best ever but to be used you need to have skse(fallout edition) and consoles cannot add that? Maybe however you need to remember, Consoles have LIMITATIONS. Plus, what is the bethesda network is pushed on pc? won't they try to monopolize the good mods to convince people to use it (thus hurting places like the Skyrim Nexus)?

Originally posted by TheWishGranter:yeah good point i also thought of the bethesda network, but the problem still remains: maps foor doom and mods for fallout are not the same: mods can be waay more complex. I'd like to hear your opinion on this guys I really hope that this does not happen on pc but also especially on console, but i see no other solution i'd be heartbroken to see mods reduced to mere stinky dlc for the poor masses of paesants who never felt the joy of freedom (jk lol ) ) Of course they will want money for this service, and i fear that the revenue split could be even more unfair for content creators this time around (i mean its MS we're talking about, there's no such thing as enough money. The only solution i see is something similar to what happened on steam with paid mods: bethesda contacts personally the modders whose creations they want to port on xbox and then bethesda (or MS) maintains said mods and ensures that everything works smoothly.

IMHO, console can't possibly keep up with the constant patching, and you can't troubleshoot or debug the game on console there is no way to resolve conflicts, tweak the game or manage load order! i don't really see how this could possibly work using our current model of distribution.

How will distribution on console be handled? there is no element that leads me to believe that console gamers will the have the capability of handling mods like we do on pc, let alone the technical know-how. I recently saw the trailer for customization and modding in f4, in which Todd Howard said that Bethesda is going to partner up with microsoft in order to bring mods to Xbox One: that statement got me thinking.
